Update...

Ok... time to get everyone up to date.

It's been over two months since Stacy and I got engaged, but the real planning is just getting started. Although we casually talked about the wedding, we had mostly just enjoyed the new status of the relationship when the holiday season kicked in. At my family Thanksgiving, I was unknowingly exposed to the varicella-zoster virus. We spent the remainder of the weekend with Stacy's family. The next weekend, while Mizzou had a #1 ranked football team, I got a Weimaraner/German Short-hair Pointer mix puppy named Truman. Less than a week later, I came down with the chicken pox. By the time that was over, so was Hannukah. With all that was going on, somehow I managed to get the real engagement ring on her finger before we went to visit her folks for Xmas and saw my family for our delayed Hannukah gathering. We ended the year by attending a wonderful New Year's Eve wedding.

We started the year off on the right foot. We went to the Smart Living Expo and the big Wedding Show at America's Center. I have begun to adjust my eating habits so I can shed a few dozen pounds by the ceremony. The show helped kick-start the planning. We want to have the wedding on October 12th. We are working on finding a Rabbi and location. We have sampled a couple flavors of cupcakes. The colors are picked out. We also have some ideas for favors, centerpieces, and music. Most recently. and probably most exciting, Stacy found her dress this afternoon at David's Bridal.

Truman is now halfway through his puppy classes. Four more weeks of this session. Sit, stay, leave it, and lay down are the basics from class so far. Besides the things he has learned in class, I have taught him to wait patiently at meal time while I fill his bowls with food and water until I give him the green light. He is also learning to ring a bell by the front door when he needs to go out to potty.
